Learning at OakHaven Academy
OakHaven Academy’s approach has been thoughtfully developed, focusing on individualized, relationship-based, and evidence-informed learning, supporting neurodiverse learners in a calm and nurturing environment.
Learning at OakHaven is built around multi-sensory instruction in literacy and numeracy, allowing students to engage and understand concepts using the learning styles that work best for them. Each student follows an individualized success plan (IEP) which targets academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence. Daily social-emotional learning is embedded throughout the school day to help students build self-regulation, confidence, and positive relationships.
Ontario certified teachers and skilled educators use structured, evidence-based programs while remaining flexible and responsive to each child’s needs. Providing experiential learning through community excursions, students are able to apply skills in meaningful, practical ways.
